Join the Home Energy Squad on Monday

On Monday, during the second half of our Crime and Safety Committee at 7pm at the CNA Office, we’ll hear from staff at the Home Energy Squad about their program to help homeowners and tenant’s save money and make their home more “green” with everything from changing light bulbs to weather stripping and more. Come by and learn about the program and how you can have the Squad come by your home. Help CNA know how best to promote this service and how to ensure it is a benefit to our community. We’ll see you on Monday!

Learn more about Home Energy Squad here:

The program involves energy consultants visiting residents’ homes to evaluate energy savings opportunities, and install energy-efficient materials. The program’s goal is to help residents save money and energy by learning more about their home, and gaining access to energy saving materials.  All the cost of the diagnostic tests, materials, and labor are included in the $70 visit fee (the visits are discounted $30 for Minneapolis residents).

Tell Your Neighbors About Winter Parking

regina flyering
Regina, our awesome intern, letting neighbors know where to park for safer streets and happier neighbors.

Winter parking restrictions has been in effect since Sunday, but many of our neighbors are not aware of the change. This can be especially difficult for new neighbors whose first language is not English, or those simply out of the loop. Help us get them informed by letting us know where to go.

If you have a block with a lot of cars parked on the even side of the street, let CNA staff know and we’ll do a doorknock and flyering on your block asap. Or, if you’d like to do this yourself, print the flyer below and flyer the cars or doors on your block so your neighbors don’t get towed and your street stays clear.

Fight The Cold With The Home Energy Squad

Besides thinking about your cold toes on a day like today, you might be thinking about your energy bill hurting your pocketbook. Now is a great time to think about reducing that energy bill and inviting the Home Energy Squad to help you do that. Cleveland residents have been utilizing this great resource for the past four years and nearly 10% of all Cleveland households have been involved in the program! Learn more on the Home Energy Squad Website or below.

If the visit fee is a barrier to involvement would scholarships from CNA be helpful? If you’ve had a visit from the Energy Squad would you be willing to share our experience? Comment below or shoot us an email. Thanks!
