Interested in getting your hands dirty and contributing to a thriving green community? Join the North End Community Garden and volunteer to help with the communal plot, more info from Garden Guru Chris:
Those involved in the communal plots share in the preparing, planting (including deciding what to plant), weeding, watering, and of course harvesting. All of the round and and many of the raised bed plots in the garden are the communal ones. So is the big U-shaped trellised area — that will be for tomatoes. We try to arrange a time during the week when several of us can be there, so that we can garden together. For those involved in the communal plots, there is the recommended fee of $20 for the year (same as people with individual plots), and this can be reduced or waived for anyone with financial need — we don’t want it to keep someone from being involved in the garden. Anyone interested in more info or in being part of the garden can contact me via our garden email address — northendcommunitygarden@gmail.
