If you didn’t make it out to Open Streets on Saturday you missed out on a lot of fun things happening. One of those exciting things you might have missed is the launch of our Community Engagement Cart, a mobile block party mobile. And we’re looking for hosts for some fall block parties, how about you?
We’re looking to do a variety of smaller scale block parties throughout the neighborhood. Want to host a board game night with your neighbors? Bonfire with S’mores? A backyard movie night for families? Let us know if you’re interested in hosting an event on your block and we’ll work out the details on making that happen. Our goal with our mobile engagement is to build strong connections between residents and strong connections to the Cleveland Neighborhood Association.
If you’re interested, shoot us an email or give us a call at 612-588-1155. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
(The Community Engagement Cart was made possible through a grant from the Pohlad Family Foundation)

For those interested in learning more about the Mayoral Candidates and hearing their opinions and views on issues relevant to north Minneapolis residents, this upcoming Mayoral Forum will be a great opportunity to hear from the current candidates.

Do you love gardening and want to help your neighborhood school with their new garden? The students in the summer program worked hard all summer at keeping up the three garden beds at Lucy Laney School, but now that the school year has started they could use some help making sure the weeds stay away! This is a great volunteer opportunity as you can stop by whenever it works for you and pull some weeds to your hearts content. The beds are located on the northside of the school and on the west side of the parking lot (off of 34th Ave N.). You can let Steve Alexander at the school know you’re available and then go for it! Call him at 612-668-2223
s a quick reminder to neighbors as we head into September, we still have Landscape Grants available for residents to receive a reimbursable grant of up to $100 for purchasing plants and other materials to create a rain garden or boulevard garden on their property. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the community by beautifying the community and helping us make it more “green”. Deadline for applying is mid-September and must complete the project by October. Find out more about
